About Goodswan

Goodswan is the musical creation of Ray Mancini and Sergey Popovich, two diverse individuals from contrasting international backgrounds who sharing a love of music and performance. The two have come together in Brooklyn, New York to pursue one vision – a melding of styles and sonics drawing from the best of their talents and influences.

As lead vocalist, Mancini brings his strong vocal dynamics and a pop-sensibility, while Popovich, as lead guitarist, brings his inspired instrumental work and experimental tendencies. The result is music that is sonically artistic with an ear for the mainstream, drawing from such acts as Brian Eno, Massive Attack, Coldplay, Dave Gahan, and Nine Inch Nails.

Goodswan released “Dancing Tanks”,a nine-track album of original music, in 2011, and has since recorded two more songs. The band has played throughout New York City over the past three years at such venues as The Bitter End, The Delancey, Tamany Hall, and Webster Hall’s Studio. Goodswan also has had international exposure, and is a featured musical act on Lenta.ru, Russia’s premiere news and entertainment site:

ABOUT THE MEMBERS:

Sergey Popovich (Guitars, Programming/sequencing) is originally from Kiev, Uktraine, now currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. Popovich was a musician of great acclaim in his former homeland, where his previous band Rabbota Ho helped to give Ukraine a musical identity in the post-Soviet Union era.

Ray Mancini (Vocals, Keyboards) is originally from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, now currently residing in Brooklyn, NY.  Mancini is a graphic/interactive designer and artist, responsible for Goodswan’s overall visual look, interactive site, and promotional material.

As a live unit, Goodswan is joined by bassist Andry Melnyk. Melnyk, an established musician in his own right, adds a dynamic energy and personality to their live shows.
